Geek Week!
Well, I managed to get one post up in July! hashtag winning! Between Fourth of July, Comic-con, Maine, and general shenanigans, the blog kinda fell to the wayside. But - I have a few posts coming up - on the previously mentioned Comic-con and some fun themed parties I'm in the process of planning. Until then... it's GEEK WEEK on YouTube!
They've got some great programming up including this Choose Your Own Adventure! Super cool right? I've been having a lot of fun watching the Geek Week videos. Not to mention productive at work!

Friday Musings #38
There's nothing I love more than a good Disney/boy band mashup.
"The way I see it, you can sit around here and mope... or you can start a boy band."
So fantastic.

Friday Musings #36
I'm leaving shortly to go on my church retreat. I had my first foray in editing for the promo videos. I have to say, they came out pretty well.
Promo #1:
I told everyone that the time of Harlem Shake had passed, but 8 people showed up to help out and it seemed like the easiest way to get them all in the video.

Honestly, I have no idea how the clips fit together so well with the music. God was definitely providing some editing miracles for these.
The Princess Peach/Leonardo attacks are pretty left field. But we wanted something ridiculous, and luckily I have a lot of costumes. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Friday Musings #33
So this is how I spent my entire evening last night. I don't know how I hadn't heard of The Lizzie Diaries before. Each episode is around 4 minutes long and they air 2 a week. (so yes, I watched all 98 episodes in one day - I AM NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT THAT.) The last 2 episodes of the series (rounding it off at an even 100) air next Monday and Thursday. Glad I caught up before the very end! It's a really cute modern-ish day Pride & Prejudice and for the most part I think they did a really good job of translating everything. There are a few characters/lines that I think sound a little forced (mostly because they're lifting it straight from the book) but I really enjoyed it. I'm excited for the last two episodes! Also, the girl who plays Lydia is also in the School of Thrones YouTube show, which as soon as I finish the book and watch the HBO series, I am totally going to watch!

Friday Musings #32
I thought this was an appropriate follow up to my Disney race posts. I don't know how I haven't heard of Jon Cozart before now, but OMG this kid is talented. It seems he loves things like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and DISNEY so I'm pretty sure that makes us BFFs!

Thank God For YouTube
I did it!! I finished my *top secret* project this weekend! I went to Michael's to pick up a few supplies for the finishing touches. Did you know there's a Michael's App you can get for you phone? It's amazing! You can access the coupons directly from the app so no more getting to the store and panicking because you realized you forgot to print them out.
I immediately dove into my next project - knitting socks! There are a lot of new knitting techniques involved in knitting socks that I've never done before. I read a few descriptions online and was really having trouble picturing what they were telling me to do. Then it hit me - YouTube! After watching a few videos of a lady with a cool accent knitting them, it was much easier to follow my own pattern.
Yay for technology!
